Festival

7th and 8th Grade Festival is in two weeks at Lovinggood Middle School.  I need five parent volunteers to assist me with this event (you get a free dinner, pizza!!!!) so that it goes smoothly for all the students involved.

For those of you that don't know, festival is the annual event where both orchestras perform for judges and receive a rating (I-V, with I begin the best) based upon the following criteria:
  1. Tone (the quality of sound that is heard)
  2. Intonation (how well they play the notes in tune)
  3. Technique (how accurate they are with what is on the page)
  4. Balance (how well they play together)
  5. Interpretation (expression)
  6. Musical Effect (artistry)
  7. Other Factors (discipline, appearance)

7th grade festival is Monday, March 3rd and 8th grade festival is Thursday, March 6th.  All students are required to attend and will remain afterschool on the day of their festival.  Students must wear their concert attire for this performance, so please make sure that it is brought to school wrinkle free (we are graded on our appearance).  All parents are welcome to attend the festival performance(it is the same time for both dates) which is at 6:40 at Lovinggood Middle School. I will be sending home permission slips this week and they are due back this Friday (NO EXCEPTIONS).  The permission slip can also be found under Orchestra links on the blog (just make sure you click on the right grade).
