All students performing in this concert need to be at school no later than 6:15pm dressed, focused, and ready to play. Also any 6th grade student attending this performance can recieve extra credit but you must fulfill the requirements given at the very end of the blog (press end on your keyboard)

Ms. Chiles ROCKS!!!!!

These past two concerts have made me so proud to be your teacher. I am so amazed at the level of professionalism that you demonstrated and your abilities to adapt to whatever changes that occurred. Have a great summer and to my 8th graders, PEACE LOVE AND ORCHESTRA.....I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!

CONCERT

WE HAVE OUR 7th and 8th PRE-FESTIVAL CONCERT THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21st at 7pm in the Awtrey Theatre.

All students need to be in the orchestra room by 6:30 to tune and warm-up prior to the concert.  We will have a special judge (possibly judges) who will evaluate you the same way that the judges at festival evaluate you.

Perfect Practice makes a Perfect Performance!!!
Don't just play through your music,
  1. break it down by measure
  2. practice slowly
  3. pluck, air bow
  4. listen to the recordings
  5. play along with the recordings, etc.....
We are only as strong as our weakest player so if everybody gives 100% we will be great.  Don't expect for someone else to cover up your mistake because the judges can see and hear everything!
